My name is Kaila and I will be a freshman at Howard University majoring in business this upcoming Fall.  On April 19, 2020, my mother passed away from the Coronavirus. My whole world got flipped upside down. This calamity has significantly impacted the financial stability and togetherness of my family. Financially, has to be one of the biggest struggles because my father is a single parent raising two girls; One that’s seven and the other that’s about to go off to college. It hasn’t been easy for my dad to pay for bills, college classes, child support, and necessities like food, clothes, shelter, etc. Also, her passing has put a mental strain on my dad and I’s relationship. Most days, I do not see my dad because he has to work twelve hours shift just to make ends meet. This has been the most challenging situation we have ever faced, but we will continue to persevere through this. I need $2,300 to assist me with with housing. Any help is greatly appreciated.
